  • You must return to your home county after completing your studies
  • You must have completed undergraduate degree
  • You must apply for three eligible UK universities courses
  • You must have two years of work experience

You are not eligible to apply if:

  • You hold british or dual citizanship
  • You hold refugee status in a non-chevening eligible country

English requirements

Chevening only accept English language tests from the following providers:

  • Be full-time programs
  • Begin in the autumn term

  • BE based in UK
  • Last between 9 to 12 months in total

Any Reference required?

Yes you’ll need to provide references when applying for the scholarship. They’re an important part of the application process. When you first submit your application, you’ll need to include the name of two referees. If your application moves forward to the next stage, you’ll then be asked to upload two reference through the online system.

Your referees should be people who know you in a professional or academic context not close friends or family members.

Application Process

When using the Chevening Online Application System (OAS), there are a few important things to keep in mind. First it’s best to use a laptop or desktop computer rather than a mobile phone or tablet. To prevent losing any unsaved work, always navigate through the form using the built in menus instead of your browser’s back or forward buttons.

Here are a few more tips to remember:

  • Keep track your login details: Make sure you remember your username and password for the application system.
  • Use a valid email address: This ensures you don’t miss any important updates about your application
  • Prepare your answers in advance: It’s a good idea to write your responses offline first, then copy and paste them into the form.
  • Pay attention to word limits: Each question requires between 100 to 500 words make sure your answer meet these limits
  • Save your work regularly: Each session times out after 60 minutes, so save as you go to avoid losing progress.
  • Submit your application in English: Application in other language won’t be considered.
  • You  have finish in one sitting: If you can’t complete your application in one, logout and return later to finish it
  •  Check your upload files: the system only accepts JPG, PNG or PDF documents up to 5MB in size.
